OUR DO’S AND DON’TS FOR WEARING WHITE
The color white appears to come with many “rules” attached. You can’t put it on after Labor Day. It’s typically restricted to ball gown dress. It stains easily, so avoid it no matter what. How did the easiest shade become so complicated?
Well, these unwritten rules should be broken, except for wearing white to some wedding (please don’t do this…ever). We outlined several do’s and don’ts to bear in mind in regards to the pretty pearly hue. Whether you sport the colour tone on the reg or are contemplating it to have an upcoming event, have these pointers handy to look your best in blanc.
Do: Accessorize!
A white dress is like a playground for accessorizing, so don’t miss the chance to dress up with colorful jewelry, fun heels, or perhaps a dazzling handbag.
Don’t: Wear it to some wedding or related event
We said hello once and we’ll say it again: this “rule” is a to follow. Unless the invitation specifies it’s an all-white short formal dresses code for guests, steer clear of the color for any wedding, bridal shower, bachelorette party, or rehearsal dinner.
Do: Consider Similar Options
If white’s still too intimidating, try ivory or perhaps a print style having a white backdrop. Baby steps, peeps.
Don’t: Limit it to 1 season
Yes, it’s time for you to put that Labor Day myth to bed. White could be worn year-round, whether it’s for any June graduation or even the annual Winter Wonderland dance. Seriously, the limit doesn't exist.
