A Festive Winter Barn Wedding

Today's couple is big fans of the chilly season and achieving also met during winter, thought a December wedding dresses could be perfectly fitting, and even it was. Abi and Ed were married on 9th December 2018 in a ceremony inside a barn in the history of the Cotswolds.

"Ed and I met 8 years back working ski seasons within the French Alps. It would be a fling that never ended! We went backpacking all over the world together before settling in east London. We got engaged within the summer of 2017 on vacation in Malaysia and thus were engaged for 18 months before the wedding."

"The fact both of us met within the winter and love time of year (especially Christmas!) made us want the winter wedding to have a festive feel. We used rich jewel colors like a theme throughout your day, with accents of gold. It was an entirely DIY affair and we used plenty of our incredibly talented and helpful family and friends for your day."

"Sticking towards the jewel color pallette, my four bridesmaids had free reign to select their own dress. I love it when bridesmaids are dressed differently and every one of them picked something true to their very own style, however, they all looked amazing together."

"I gave each of the girls another pair of gold earrings around the morning from the wedding, who have been so useful when you are making sure they arrived promptly, as it had been somewhat of a last-second decision!"

"My dress was by FeelTimes. I never had 'the moment' where I knew I'd found the best dress. I visited 10 different dress shops and tried on every type of dress imaginable. It was never truly the focus of the wedding for me personally, and I didn't wish to spend money on a dress I'd only wear for just one day."

"I wanted something which wasn't too traditional, that I could easily walk in, didn't feel too constricted by, but that will flatter my figure and become a bit special. When I tried around the Marceau dress, I would be a bit nervous as I knew I couldn't wear a bra by using it, but I figured when I was likely to go bra-less at any point during my life, now was time to do it, and I loved outdoors back, the wrap-around waist and also the tulle skirt."

"I was built with a pair of white heels. Nothing fancy as nobody was likely to see them, I just needed these phones to be comfortable enough to wear all day long. Looking back, white would be a mistake – they're filthy now!"

"We wanted so that it is relaxed, personal, and fun, and she or he nailed it – so many of our guests commented how much they enjoyed the ceremony. She also helped us write our very own vows, which I'm so pleased we did."

"I loved the entire day; from getting ready in the morning, through towards the last dance and seeking to get all of our drunk friends within the taxis. Some favorite moments were the ceremony, the speeches, and dancing to the band. Seeing all of our family and friends covered in glitter and rocking out towards the band was amazing."

"It was much better than I could ever have imagined. Having all of the people we like in one place was this kind of amazing feeling, neither person wanted it to finish."

Words Of Wedded Wisdom

"Make sure spent time together on your day – I was given this advice by a lot of people and certainly took it aboard. Also, perform a speech! All brides must do one. When else would you get the opportunity to say plenty of nice reasons for the person you like?"
