An Autumn Wedding
On 28 September 2019, the advertising and marketing and events manager wed Paddy, a mental health nurse, inside a Church of England ceremony at, Dartington then a relaxed, flower-filled reception within the bucolic setting of, Buckfastleigh, Devon. Taking the restaurant’s whimsical dried flower wall as a starting point, your day was filled with flowers and celebrated the seasonal produce of Devon.
To counterbalance the simple cut from the gown as well as for a touch of contemporary glam, the bride to be chose glittered, pointy slingback shoes.
"I always wanted an outfit that was minimal and trendy (less is certainly more) with something just a little unusual and unexpected. I loved the component of a surprise if this came to my fashion prom dresses choices becoming an adult and yearned for my wedding gown to include this but inside a non-fussy way."
The couple was raised together in Devon, went to the same school, and hung out with the same group of friends as Paddy is Emily's brother's closest friend. They began to date this year and had an eleven-month engagement following the groom's proposal in Sicily.
"We got engaged in Sicily in October 2018. I had been dropping multiple hints over the year and I had given up just a little hope when he caught me completely off guard towards the top of a mountain (I am frightened of heights so was focusing on other things)."
"We were staying within the gorgeous village of Gratteri, which has only around 1,200 inhabitants therefore it was incredibly private and intimate just the two of us for three days."
The bride and her father traveled towards the church together in the car, before entering 'Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion.
"This was my mum's song as sadly she wasn't around."
For the September big day, Paddy selected a deep blue suit from in Exeter, worn having a quirky, flower-sprigged shirt from Paul Smith along with striped cufflinks and socks, also from.
The intimate, atmospheric photographs that we're enjoying are from the camera of the super-talented Rebecca Rees, who combines contemporary and romantic vibes for any truly unique style.
I adore the timelessness of those images, especially those newly-wed shots out around the moors.
Words of Wedded Wisdom
"I know everyone says it but don't stress or put yourself under any pressure. Just attempt to enjoy the moment while you build up a lot to it and it's gone in a flash. You will end up looking back and wishing you hadn't."
